Microsoft MapPoint Interface

What is Microsoft MapPoint?

MapPoint is a mapping software that takes one or several addresses and plots them on a map and provides directions to each address (similar to other mapping software). It can also do a very basic optimization based on the addresses plotted on the map. In i-Pak, there are several areas and screens in the system where MapPoint can be utilized. In addition, since i-Pak interfaces with MapPoint, the addresses are automatically sent to MapPoint from i-Pak so the user does not need to 'reenter' an address.

Where can I use the Interface?

Once the interface is activated (see below), the MapPoint icon will be displayed on various screens in i-Pak. These include:

Customer Profile - to find a specific customer's service address on a Map.

On Line Dispatching - to plot all work orders on the screen to a Map.

View Route lists - to plot an entire route list on a Map.

There are detailed instructions in each applicable section on how to use the MapPoint Interface.
