The price list field is used with the Charge Code Master to add flexibility to your pricing structure without having several different charge (service) codes.
Examples of uses:
The same service in different towns are different prices.
Different GL codes in different towns for the same service (need to track revenue by town).
Different pricing for Roll Off services based on 'area' or distance from the yard.
Different 'standard/default' pricing for commercial customers who are different levels (such as Heavy, Medium, Light, or A, B, C, etc). This can help reporting default pricing versus actual pricing.
Ensure that only certain charge codes are used for certain towns.
The Price List field can be set up to be a required field when entering a customer. Please see the Cycle Master for additional information.
You can also have the Price List automatically filled in using the Zip Code Master and Zip Code Validation.
Example: I have residential customers in 3 different towns: Denville, Mt Tabor, and Mountain Lakes. I provide curbside service for all towns, but the price is different for each. I want to make charge code entry easiest for my users to remember, so I will have one charge code called 'CS' for curbside service, and 3 price lists.
I first set up my price lists:
DV = Denville
MT = Mt Tabor
ML = Mountain Lakes
When setting up my charge codes I set up
Company |
Sz/Cg |
Price List |
01 |
'__CS' |
DV |
01 |
'__CS' |
MT |
01 |
'__CS' |
ML |
The user enters a price list of 'DV', 'MT', or 'ML' when setting up the customer but only has to key in CS for the charge code.
