The "Show Cust Docs" feature is available within customer service. When activated, the icon will appear on all customer service screens (notepad, work orders, services, etc.) This feature offers a quick way to navigate to a shared folder on your network to view stored documents for your customers.
A shared folder will need to be set up by your IT person where the documents will be stored. The network path or mapped drive is all that is needed to activate this feature. Once you know the network path or mapped drive, contact support services and they can set this up for you.
How it Works
When you click on the icon, it will check the network path you specified, and append the customer number on the end, then open this path in Windows Explorer.
For example: in customer service, the customer number is "01-0000014". When you click on the "Show Cust Docs" icon it will look for the following folder: \\softpakserver\customers\1-14. If it finds this folder it will display the folder. If it does not find it, it will create it and then display it. From here you are working in Windows Explorer and can do whatever you need to do; create additional folders, save documents, print, etc.
Miscellaneous
To see the path/location of show customer documents, click on the i-Pak by Soft-Pak icon on your screen.
This will bring up the Application Information window which will display the Cust Docs Folder.
