Per Pick Up Calculations

How do we calculate prorations by Pick UP?

1. We take the Monthly Charge $ for the Bin/Service and multiply that by 12 to get the Yearly Charge $.

2. Then we take the Yearly Charge $ and divide that by the  Annual Frequency (from the Frequency Code Master) to get the Weekly Charge $.

3. The next step is to take the Weekly Charge $ and divide by the Bin/Service Total Pickups to get the Per Pick-up Charge $

4. If the operand for the bin/service is not “G”, we multiply the Per Pick-up Charge $ by the Bin/Service Qty.

Examples:

#1

Bin Qty = 2

Bin Charge $ = $85.00 (Rent $10.00, 3 Total P/U’s @ $25.00/each, blank operand)

All Frequencies = blank

$85.00 x 12 = $1020.00

$1020.00 / 52 = $19.62

$19.62 / 3 = $6.54 per pickup

$6.54 x qty 2 = $13.08 per pickup for both bins

#2

Bin Qty = 2

Bin Charge $ = $85.00 (Rent $10.00, 3 Total P/U’s @ 25.00/each, blank operand)

Monday Frequency = “E”

Wednesday Frequency = blank

Friday Frequency = blank

$85.00 x 12 = $1020.00

$1020.00 / 26 = $39.23

$39.23 / 3 = $13.08 per pickup

$13.08 x qty 2 = $26.16 per pickup for both bins

#3

Bin Qty = 2

Bin Charge $ = $100.00 (Charge Override is $100.00 with “G” operand code)

Bin Total P/U = 3

All Frequencies = blank

$100.00 x 12 = $1200.00

$1200.00 / 52 = $23.07

$23.07 / 3 = $7.69 per pickup for both bins

Notes:

Proration Calculations for Front Screen Variables:

1) Variable Charge $ x 12 = Yearly Charge $

2) Yearly Charge $ / 52 = Per Pick-up Charge $

Example:  Variable #1 is a Processing Fee of $2.50

$2.50 x 12 = $30.00

$30.00 / 52 = $0.58 per pickup

ex_red_sm.jpgThis will not calculate a “per pick-up” $ amount.  Instead, it calculates the variable’s total prorated amount.

1) Sum of ALL prorated $ amounts x Variable Percentage value

2) If doing a CREDIT proration, this will be a CREDIT amount.

3) If doing a DEBIT proration, this will be a DEBIT amount.

Example:  Variable #1 is a Surcharge of 5%

Total Monthly Charge = $10.00

Per Pickup Charge for the $10.00 = $2.31

Doing a CREDIT proration for 2 pickups = $4.62 CREDIT total prorated $ amount

$4.62 CREDIT x 5% Premium = $0.23 CREDIT for Variable #1 proration

ex_red_sm.jpgThis will not calculate a “per pick-up” $ amount.  Instead, it calculates the variable’s total prorated amount.

1) Sum of ALL prorated $ amounts x Variable Percentage value

2) If doing a CREDIT proration, this will be a DEBIT amount.

3) If doing a DEBIT proration, this will be a CREDIT amount.

Example:  Variable #1 is a Senior Discount of 10%

Total Monthly Charge = $25.00

Per Pickup Charge for the $25.00 = $5.77

Doing a DEBIT proration for 2 pickups = $11.54 total prorated $ amount

$11.54 x 10% Discount = $1.15 CREDIT
